Muizenberg Street Festival, September 2010!

We are waiting for event permit confirmation but Sunday 12th September looks like the date!

The idea is Bring 'n Share: so everyone is invited to get involved in any way they would like. Below are some ideas but feel free to come up with new ideas for activities, workshops, displays, performances, art, film etc etc etc!

The festival has 3 themes:
Creativity, Eco-Awareness and Community: You are free to explore these themes as aspects of living, working, surfing, visiting or creating in Muizenberg. The aim is to allow for the festival to draw attention to these themes and express/ celebrate them.

12 September 2010
10 am - 5pm
Muizenberg Village: Cnr of Palmer and Church rds see map
Parking: Checkers parking lot or at the beach pavilion....then follow the signs to the festival

Stalls

Decor
All are welcome to help make decorations and paint signs.
This will happen the day before the fest: Saturday the 11th of September

Meet outside Roots Juice bar @ 10am

Bring along any materials you have lying around
Paints and cardboard will be provided

Workshops

Film screenings

Films will be shown throughout the day at the Melting Pot. If you have suggestions for films (especially if you have made them) get in touch with Tom: mtom.ky@gmail.com 0716249677

Info exhibits:
We encourage any group, individual or organisation with exciting projects happening in the area to set up an info display at the festival. In this way locals can become more aware with whats happening and learn how to get involved. We are especially excited about projects involved with Eco-Awareness and Community.

Surf/ skate
It would be so great to get the surfers and skaters involved so this area has loads of potential for you to come up with some ideas.....

Refuse/ Recycling:

This is an especially important area because we don't want to leave our lovely village a mess afterwards. We would like to construct a set of recycling bins that can become a permanent feature of the village. If you can help get in touch with Louise: 072 6111311, taitlouise@gmail.com
